序盤の説明がこちら。
However, mankind made God angry by building the Tower of Babel, and God destroyed the tower, tore the language apart and the wordhood is collapsed. As a result, the language was severed from God; names were disconnected from things, they became no longer interchangeable.
だがしかしばっとやしが人々のバベルの塔構築の目論見は神を怒らせた。
神はバベルの塔を破壊しワードフッドが成立しない状況を作り言語はちりじりになった。
あるものを表す名前（言葉）がそのものを表さないようになった。
アメリカ人にごーやーって言っても通じないでしょ？
彼らにはGO！Yeah! やったれ！やったれ！くらいにしか理解できない。
言葉とものが引き離された。
つまり以前の1つの言語、言葉、概念が共通した状態ではなく
言葉と概念（その言葉が指すもの）は必ずしも一致しない、
もしくは違うものを指すので一対一の関係ではない状態になった。
Stillman believes that it is possible to recreate the world in which the wordhood is present when he could give every single thing a name by his own language and has recovered one-to-one relation between things and words.
登場人物スティルマンは自分がすべてのものに新しく名前を付けることで
新しい言語を作りそれをシェアすることで言葉とものを一対一の関係に戻すことができると考えている。
In the same way as above, like the world is explained by word, there is a state in which things are defined by sounds. The state can be called the soundhood.
同じように世界が言葉で説明されるように「ワードフッド」の状態のように
世界が音で説明される「サウンドフッド」という状態が存在する。
In contrast to the wordhood, the soundhood keeps changing, it does not have a fixed form, neither the existence is transformable. The soundhood provides a countless number of shapes through relation with other sounds.
ワードフッドとは異なりサウンドフッドは変わり続ける。
This is because a sound has multiple meaning depending on contexts and languages. People are creating diverse soundhood by speaking with others, and their voices include the person’s inner elements like the way of talking, emotion, thoughts, personality. Musical harmony with other voices creates its individual soundhood.
なぜならそれが話される状況や言語によって音が持ちうる意味は一つではない。
英語での母音の発音や日本語でのお、をの発音を考えてくれれば理解しやすいはずだ。
英語のあ、い、う、え、おの発音は日本のそれとは違ってざっと20種類くらいある。
知らんけど。
これは
Schwa sound（シュアサウンド）
と呼ばれるものでほぼほぼすべての英語学習者が苦手で苦しんでいる英語の発音です。
要するに音が世界を表現するサウンドフッドの状態は変わり続ける。
人間を考えると一番わかりやすい。
1人の人間でも1つの音として定義することはできない。
人間は話す。他の動物より圧倒的にそして具体的、意味を伴って。
人々の声も多種多様。喋り方やその時の感情、考え方や使う単語、性格。
カラオケなどでの音域を考えてもらえばわかる。
高い声から低い声の間の音のグラデーションを一つ一つ音として捉えると
絶対に1つではない。
人はうれしい時には怒った声を出せないし、悲しい時に腹を抱えて笑うことはできない人間だから。
